Mixed Glass Beech and Sumac Leaf Necklace on 14/20 Gold-Filled Chain

Mixed Glass Beech and Sumac Leaf Necklace on 14/20 Gold-Filled Chain
NLBA-MLG

The glass autumn leaf necklace you see here features thirteen of my handmade glass beech and sumac leaf beads, accented by olivine green Swarovski crystals and hung on 14/20 Gold-Filled figure-eight chain. Like real beech and sumac leaves, these have subtle variations in color and shape. These beads are hand-formed in the flame of a torch by layering a transparent glass color over an opaque one. No two glass leaves are exactly alike.

I've made an attempt to capture the autumn color transition as the beech and sumac leaves mature from their summer green. The original deep forest green of the beech cleaves fades to an olive green. As the green pigment disappears the golden yellow and russet colors underneath can show through. The leaves finally finish the season as a rich red-brown color. The sumac leaves lose their green pigment coating to reveal the orange and red tones underneath.

This necklace is 20 inches long with a lobster clasp. The free end is finished with a matching Swarovski crystal. You can wear the necklace anywhere from 18 inches to 20 inches long by clipping the Lobster clasp into the loop of your choice. Other lengths and clasp styles are available by special order. Like all of my jewelry, this design is available in both 14/20 Gold-Filled and Sterling Silver. You can see alternate beech leaf necklace designs and matching beech leaf earrings by viewing the Beech Leaves Page of this site.

Beech Leaf jewelry can also be custom made with high-karat gold or platinum findings and accented with Swarovski Crystal or gemstone beads. Some examples of my gemstone jewerly can be viewed on the Custom Jewelry Page.

Ordering information is available on the Order and Contact Page.
